Some people are demanding things that go beyond the teachings of Islam. I have seen a post claiming that if a man wants to marry,His dowry shouldn't be collective; it should be his own money and that if a guy is poor, he shouldn't get married. I thought, what?! Many of the Prophet's companions were poor, yet not a single word came from his mouth saying that if a guy is poor, he shouldn't get married. In fact, there are narrations that say if you memorize Surah Al-Ikhlas, he is not poor anymore.
The Quran states, "Marry the single people from among you and the righteous men and women among your servants. If they are poor, Allah will enrich them out of His bounty, and Allah is All-Encompassing, All-Knowing" (24:32).
The Prophet emphasized that the most blessed marriage is the one with the least burdensome dowry. He cautioned against excessive demands, noting that a rich man should not be stingy, but a poor man should not be burdened with unrealistic expectations.
