i went to rehab for medicine addiction and was on the same ward as alcoholics (was like 90% alcoholics and a few like me) and that experience genuinely scared me to ever become an alcoholic

i was in rehab and we were allowed out in pairs 1 day a week i bumped into one of the alcoholics in tesco downing mouthwash in the aisle... he thought there'd be less chance of them knowing if his breath didnt smell of alcohol

My dad used to drink mouthwash, isopropyl alcohol, huff gasoline and nail polish remover..anything if he didn't have alcohol. He never got sober.

We were only allowed to watch this show in rehab. Made me sick thinking about it because I drank mouthwash during the worst of my alcoholism. 4 years sober. Thank God.
