“My father killed himself” is genuinely an insane twist like the whole green lantern run his dad is made out to be this fearless and almost savior like figure to Hal and for him to have killed himself shows that he was just as human as everyone

My grandpa committed suicide. I could never see my dad doing so. But they’re so alike. This show really sheds light on the male suicide epidemic, which is very real. 🥺

My uncle was a veteran and left this world on his own terms almost 20 years ago give or take. I was a young boy at the time and asked my auntie why did he die and she told me that he left a note saying he felt my auntie would be better off without him making their lives harder. She never remarried and still wears her ring to this day. This episode brought those memories back like a flood. I miss him still.
