@ohio.carpenter: Apprenticeship Survival Guide 🪚 One easy way to be a better cut man—gang cut your studs and keep the guys framing instead of waiting on you 😂 Doesn’t take a bunch of setup or a giant saw. Just a simple trick to make the day move a little faster. #Carpentry #Framing #Apprentice #Construction #Carpenter
running the saw the wrong direction, keep the wide part of the foot over the kept part of the board.

Looks good but would still take the 30 seconds to put a square and mark each board.

You know you can just line up all the boards in one pile measure once cut the boards, the exact same length all the way through a lot faster and more efficient. You’re welcome.

Please do not do this as an apprentice if the older guys see you do that and your cut isn’t perfect you won’t hear the end of it just pull your square out comparing to the time it will take you to perfect this you could’ve pulled your square out of your bags countless times they sell them for a reason because a human isn’t perfect

Ribble Dean :
I’d use a speed square on the first one, stack 5/7 studs, make them even, and your saw marks the one below, it’s called gang cutting

I just use my track saw, I can lay the track clamped down onto 2x4s that are double stacked on the saw horses, I can cut 14 in one pass. some people might laugh but I like knowing its a good cut

Vampire Alberta :
Studs are already specifically cut. Measure from the short side and use a square. No round cuts and just as fast.

On a clean stack just use a 4' level to offset the top rack of lumber and straighten the edge, measure on each outside board and use the level to scribe the line, cut, done.

you should have to mark all the way across, just one side, line up your circular saw so the plate is even as you cut across and itll be perfect
