I've always been confused because my gi said he rarely does "anti-reflux" surgery because it typically only lasts 5 years and cannot be repeated. I have terrible gerd but that said I also have gastroparesis.

What about LPR. Why do some people reflux all the way into the throat upright or laying down. PPIs haven’t prevented the inflammation, mucus and breathing issues from LPR

I’ve had GERD ever since I was an active healthy teen. Terrible pain and popped Tums daily until I finally developed an ulcer. Doctor put me on Prilosec 20 years ago and I have taken it daily since, and it has eliminated GERD symptoms for me 100%. It’s been a miracle for me. Thanks for answering!

Have lost 20 pounds still have the problem was offered valve placement or aspirin daily no actual proof that this would work antiacids dont actually solve this problem either because when to stop acid t just sits nonchalant in stomach not moving

Please speak on PPI's. The Afrin of gerd. My gastro has no issue with staying on them long term. Everything I understand is decreasing acid long term can actually cause more issues. Like we need acid! I don't have a gallbladder. Do I need added digestive enzymes? Mixed opinions. Gastro says absolutely not. This is hard!!

What are your thought on GLP-1 meds and the fact that they delay gastric emptying? Are they making the problem worse? Or the opposite?

Gerd has been really bad for me lately. The acid turned my tongue yellow and my dentist told me that the acid is eroding the enamel off of my teeth. 😩. I am on 2 PPI’s twice daily.

How common/dangerous is it to wake up in the middle of the night gasping for air or vomiting from reflux? Sleep study claimed “normal”.
