The more compassion you have for other people helps build you up. It can also be crippling if you don’t create healthy boundaries. But trying to be ultimately understanding is the way to go for me.

this is brilliant. I've thought a lot about how differently ppl can view the world and at relatively same IQ, some choose closed systems, others lean into open, evolving structures. I've thought reading and curiosity may be factors of differentiation, yet I also wonder about capacity for compassion which often entails suffering, enormous suffering that doesn't collapse the heart, expands it. love this topic, looking for more from you. thanks for bringing this info forward!

Wow! Architecture of Consciousness. How diverse that must be? You don't know what you don't know. This always bothers me in terms of my development. I do not want to be perceived in the same way as most of my family or acquaintances. But others perceive them very differently. Reading, films and documenaries help. Watching one thing or person and imagining being them helps me expand a little outside of myself. Most of all, spiritual elevation matters to me. However, if I have to imagine a way to higher my level of consciousness, I don't have a clue! I feel quite ignorant most of the time.

what gets called outgrowing the socialized mind is often a transfer. someone leaves the church, joins the podcast crowd, and every opinion still arrives pre-approved, just by a new group. same stage, new clothes. your level shows in whose disapproval still costs you sleep.

So, simplified, Carl Jung, shadow integration. Or, reality vs constructs. Or who ( nature ) vs what ( conditioning ) . Been done n said simpler thousands of years ago.

I think that all begins with our capacity of metacognition. The realization that we can observe our own selves: our thoughts, our body, our senses, our emotions, our soul. Once we learn how to observe ourselves, we realize that we can empathize with others as well. We become aware of our interactions with them and the consequences of our thoughts, words and actions. Also of our boundaries. We can then consciously develop the capacity to steer our life in different ways and for a certain purpose.

How often do folks become “conscious” without significant - study, trauma or lifelong development? It seems folks stay in social because it can be so comfortable to be unconscious to reality.
