@kaumahedwin: Look at this footage from the CONCACAF Nations League. Two players got straight red cards for pulling the hair of Anguilla’s—whose dreadlocks literally reach his ankles! Right now, FIFA rules classify any hair pull as Violent Conduct, making a straight red mandatory. But this has become completely unfair to defenders. When defending physically, you naturally reach out to track an opponent or make a tactical shirt-tug. When a player’s hair covers their entire back, waist, and jersey, a defender is almost guaranteed to accidentally catch hair first. Deliberate violence deserves a red card, but I feel like this direct red card decisions allows players with extreme hairstyles to easily bait opponents into match-ruining red cards. The Premier League recently relaxed this decision, allowing yellow cards if there is no excessive force. Whats your take do you think 🤔 some are now using it as a tactical trap, and should the rule be reviewed?
