@misskristyd: For transparency, it’s taken me years to finally feel comfortable talking about certain parts of my grief, my journey, and learning how to navigate it all. For those who don’t personally know me, one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do was learn how to speak openly about my experience of being a full-time caregiver for 10 years, while also navigating the loss of some of the most pivotal people in my life. For a long time, I learned how to find the grace to keep showing up. To put a smile on my face, get dressed, attend events, create content, and carry on as if nothing had ever happened. But I’ve realized that there is something incredibly powerful about allowing yourself to be seen in the real moments, too. Having a platform isn’t just about the pretty pictures, the events, or the highlight reel. It’s about sharing the moments that make us human. And even more than that, it’s about community. Grief has taught me that community shows you who is truly there not only for the picture perfect moments, but for the moments when life gets heavy, too. I’m so grateful for the community I’ve built throughout the years, and especially for the people who have continued to show up for me through all of these seasons. I’m learning that I don’t have to hide the hard parts to still be grateful for the beautiful ones. 🤍 Here’s to giving ourselves grace, allowing ourselves to be seen, and continuing to show up exactly as we are. #griefjourney #community #frienship #grief #cancersucks
