The purpose of the prison bubble is to keep Mabel trapped and it does that by becoming a place she’d never want to leave. Her perfect world couldn’t exist without Dipper but any realistic Dipper wouldn’t be content staying in the bubble

I was just thinking this on my rewatch! Everyone is focused on Mabel remaking him. But it’s ONLY him she made. No one else. I also don’t think people get that is supposed to be an element of comedy as well as showing how hurt Mabel still is about dipper trying to leave her. This is a dipper required to stay with her in the bubble even if Dipper decides to go with Ford.

idk she very easily made other people from gravity falls like every single one of wendy’s friends and soos’ very specific mental image of what his father maybe looked like to distract them and she only did that as soon as everyone started talking about the bubble being a bad idea. this included dippy fresh who she made into the ultimate yes man (along with Craz and Xyler) even though that’s never how dipper actually was with her ideas, and mabel comments on how serious and different from her dipper is multiple times in the show. i agree that she may have wanted dipper with her at the core of it but she made dippy fresh’s personality just like her other two imaginary guy friends because that’s simply how her ideal boys would look and act towards her. she made the ideal dipper for her time in the bubble not but for her real life and maybe it’s because she didn’t think reality would be better if dipper changed but idk i think the gag that a nicer, slightly dumb dipper is what what she saw as the ‘better’ him is supposed to be literally just that, a gag, and not so much a commentary on what kind of soul a thirteen year old had in that moment.
