Some teachers pay more than that amount per year. The tax amount depends on the rank of the teacher

When a businesswoman makes a sales of 5,000 a month that whole amount is not her salary. If she get 10%(500) as her profit and pays 3%(150) tax she will be left with 350 a month. So for the businesswoman to take home 4,000 as salary she must sell morethan 60,000 cedis worth of goods and pay 1,800 as tax

businesses pay VAT of 20percent on the total sales whether profit or loss👍👍.
Also there is PAYE which is " pay as you earn the business pay".
A teacher will enjoy holiday, working leave and still get paid for not working but a business man only get paid for work done.👍

This is fair… this is how income tax is calculated in most countries… this means the taxes you pay depends on the amount you are earning…

why split the percentages for the public sector but not the same for private sector. so in effect per your example, the teacher is charged close to 17% as tax which is not bad but it should be across all sectors. ✌️✌️✌️
