@mranime382: Amanda Seyfried had just three months to prepare for The Dropout after Kate McKinnon left the project. She studied hours of Elizabeth Holmes's deposition and public appearances, treating her voice almost like an accent and studying her speech patterns and mouth movements. She practiced constantly, repeating Holmes's TED Talk while driving and sending director Michael Showalter videos of herself rehearsing while doing chores on her farm. She also repeatedly listened to roughly nine to ten hours of the deposition footage while painting, knitting and doing everyday tasks. Even the physical transformation went beyond makeup: Seyfried said the patent leather pointed flats modeled after Holmes' shoes changed the way she walked, held her hips and positioned her hands.
