Do not believe in the hype of homeownership if it doesn't align with your goals. Many people have the means to own a home, they just don't want to deal with the responsibilities that come along with it. I am 34 and i have made up my mind on being a renter for life. Homeownership doesn't fit my lifestyle; every 4-5 years i have the itch to move to a different state. In this economy, it's not guaranteed that you can sell or rent your home. Not taking any chances. To some, homeownership is an accomplishment (rightfully so), but PERSONALLY, homeownership is not and never will be on my list of accomplishments and that's okay. I will never discourage someone who wants to buy a house, I just want people to do extensive research before making such a big decision. Homeownership is more than just having "freedom". With everything in life there are pros and cons, so decide wisely. What works for you, may not work for me vice versa. I have realized people will sell you a dream that's entirely false and won't be upfront about their struggles 🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️I feel free just being a renter who gets to relocate whenever the opportunity comes. Stop living vicariously through people on social media, we all have different path in life, and home equity is not the only way to build wealth... Do what's best for YOU

Depends on the person. From a purely financial perspective, renting in majority of scenarios will lead to greater financial wealth if you invest the money you would’ve spent on the down payment into the S&P 500 and also the difference between the mortgage and rent. Why? Because the stock market compounds at a higher rate (10%) than the real estate market (5-6%). Not to mention all the other costs associate with home ownership such as property tax, maintenance, and HOA if applicable which drag down real estate return. Obviously there are other reasons for home ownership such as sense of ownership, raising your family somewhere, stability etc. But for financially savvy people renting will generate significantly more wealth than buying

People playing $2000 a month to rent a house or an apartment are spending $24-$30,000 a year and it’s going straight down the drain with no equity😂

how is rent more than mortgage? california that’s NOT THE CASE. i either rent an apartment for 1600-2000$ a month or attempt to afford a mortgage for 5-6k a month. that’s the truth. nashville is cheap garbage. i can afford a house in nashville but not cali

Facts. I bought my house in 2024. Best decision I’ve made, even with everyone telling me isn’t a good time. Fun fact, my property went up 40k👍🏾

Correct!!! 👍🏼 The whole Rental lifestyle gave me anxiety and stress. I will never be a renter so long as I live if I can manage to not become a renter ever again. I am grateful to be a homeowner seriously.

As someone who grew up with parents that never owned, we were constantly having to move so now I absolutely love owning my own home. Life is more stable, I have more control over being able to stay in my home vs renting. Yes mortgages can change but so do rent prices. Homeowners can kick you out if you’re renting they literally control the roof over your head. I understand it’s not possible for everybody, but If you can afford it, I absolutely believe owning your home is more reliable than renting and trusting a stranger with a roof over your head.
