I see other patients with that exact same reading who are dizzy, confused, and about to faint. Same cuff number. Completely different story. I am a cardiologist. The number on the cuff never tells me the full picture. What matters is whether that pressure is actually reducing blood flow to your brain, your heart, or your kidneys. If the answer is no, that low reading might simply be your normal baseline. Plenty of healthy, fit people run low naturally and feel great every day. Here is what actually matters. Does the pressure cause symptoms. If you feel lightheaded within seconds of standing up, that is orthostatic hypotension. It needs evaluation, not dismissal. 🩺 Red flags that are never minor: Daily dizziness. Fainting. Confusion. Chest pain. ⚠️ If you are on blood pressure medication, never stop it on your own because you saw a low number.
