Look for overcrowding, wet bedding and anything that could injure the animals. 🩺 HEALTH CHECKS: Observe appetite, movement, breathing, body condition, coat and general behaviour. Early observation can help you identify animals that need attention. 📋 RECORD KEEPING: Record births, weights, breeding, treatments, vaccinations and deaths. If you don’t keep records, it becomes difficult to know what is actually happening in your flock. 🌱 FEED & WATER: Check feed quality, feeding areas and access to clean water every day. 🔥 Farmer lesson: Don’t wait for disease, poor growth or breeding problems to expose weaknesses in your system.
