@dohanews: The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) opened its 11th Annual Meeting in Doha on Monday, under the theme ‘Tomorrow’s Infrastructure: Impact and Innovation.’ Speaking at the opening, AIIB President Zou Jiayi said the bank’s priority for its next phase is to increase annual financing to about $20bn by 2030, with a focus on climate resilience, renewable energy, digital transformation, regional connectivity and people-centred development. In opening remarks, Qatar’s Finance Minister and AIIB Governor Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari said Qatar remained committed to multilateral cooperation and recognised AIIB’s role in supporting sustainable infrastructure and regional connectivity. AIIB began operations in 2016, and it has approved more than $79bn for over 400 projects across 43 economies. The two-day meeting in Doha will also examine ways to mobilise private capital and strengthen cooperation as the bank enters its second decade. #Qatar #Doha #DohaNews #news #AIIB
