A good way to sharpen scissors that are getting dull is to fold some aluminum foil a a number of times and cut it. Works great!

good scissors need TPS tension (cant be sloppy/too tight) point of contact (only 1 point of contact between the blades, this is what allows them to cut sequentially) sharpness (dull Scissors will not cut as well) for one of my former jobs I repaired Scissors (and other surgical instrument) and would cut exercise bands with the full blade to ensure full cutting range, i would then use the the tip of the scissors to cut the exercise band and while keeping them closed pull them back from the material. If it got caught, it showed that some part of the TPS was incorrect and needed to be fixed. Many scissors can cut paper, but in a surgical environment you need them to work with any and all surgeons. you cants have them cutting people to see if they work right. These scissors look promising and will likely be one of my next purchases! TLDR: these scissors incorporate design elements used in surgical scissors that allow the user to use the scissors instead of the user having to make the scissors work well enough
