The victim revealed that Bushati repeatedly injured her before manipulating her into believing she had simply fallen or imagined the assaults, causing her to doubt her own sanity whilst recovering from major spinal surgery. The violence escalated to the point where she required hospital treatment and a brain scan. The turning point came when CCTV footage captured an assault, validating her memory and prompting her to hand over accumulated evidence to the police. Despite subsequent death threats that forced her to flee her home for weeks in fear of her life, Bushati pleaded guilty and walked free with a suspended prison sentence alongside just 100 hours of unpaid work. Left with diagnosed PTSD, severe debt, and anxiety, the survivor is now rebuilding her life, returning to college to achieve her English GCSE with ambitions to study law and support other victims of domestic abuse.
