Risk Assessment (RA) is a systematic process used to identify hazards, evaluate the risks, and decide control measures to prevent accidents, injuries, or damage at the workplace. Simple formula: Risk = Likelihood × Severity 5 basic steps: Identify hazards – What can cause harm? Identify who may be harmed – Workers, visitors, public, etc. Evaluate the risk – How likely is it and how serious could it be? Apply control measures – Eliminate or reduce the risk. Review the assessment – Update it when conditions change or after an incident. Example: Working at height → Hazard: falling → Risk: serious injury/death → Controls: proper scaffold, guardrails, full-body harness, inspection, and training. Interview answer: “Risk assessment is the process of identifying hazards, evaluating the associated risks, and implementing suitable control measures to reduce those risks to an acceptable level.”#safetyfirst #question #everyday #everyone
