Hi would getting 8 in maths and english literature but then getting a 6 in english language be good or would the 6 in english language affect it if I apply to engineering?

as a mature student 50+ , with lots of recent excellent academic history (a level a*a*a) 2025, but with pretty average GCSE (from 1992) is it even worth applying?

a*a*a* predicted in law, politics and classics, all 9s at gcse (including media studies and history) except for a 7 in maths. will that 7 stop me succeeding in a hsps application or do my other grades make up for it?

Hi, so I got a 5 9s (inc English lit and lang) and 2 8s (inc Maths) and 3 7s (including 2 of 3 sciences). Dead kean to study Environment, Law, and Economics. How does that stack up against pupils that have been successful? also just started Yr 12 but wondering if I should be trying to attend any of the open days now?

I’m homeschooled and taught myself all my IGCSE’s, but due to money I could only do 4 since I had to pay so much for each course, I got top grades on all but is that still enough?

Hello! I know you said most applicants have 8s and 9s at GCSE, but would a GCSE profile of 8887777766 be considered weak if I had contextual reasons and if I performed very strongly post-16 studies?

What’s the general take on home educated applicants who often spread their GCSEs over couple of years, often sit first exams much earlier (at 12-13) if strong in some subjects. is there requirement to much amount of GCSEs with school attending kids?

In my country, they give smaller nums for higher grades... like 1= A*, 2=A, etc for O - level
Should I convert?

Would strength in the other areas of my submission perhaps ‘compensate’ for my average GCSEs? If I had mainly 6-5s with an 8 and a 7 in the subjects that are closely linked to what I’m applying for (Law), would a high Lnat/ high achieved grades and a strong PS warrant an interview? Thank you.
