@pubity: The Maldives introduced this 1,000 Rufiyaa polymer note in 2015 to mark the country's 50th anniversary of independence. It features a green sea turtle on the front and a whale shark on the reverse, and was designed by local Maldivian artist Abdulla Nashath as part of a series called "Ran dhiha faheh" meaning "the golden five decades." The note is printed on De La Rue's polymer substrate, making it completely waterproof and extremely difficult to counterfeit. #Pubity
