I joined the latino pre med association at my university, literally the girls were so mean and rude like it was middle school cheer squad. And then they learned my parents were in the medical field and i got my mom to come as a speaker, since they had 0 real medical field professional connections. And they didn’t talk about her career they described her as a supporting role to my dad…? and claimed she was a receptionist sort of role at my dads clinic…. she has decades of experience in pharmaceutical sciences and finances….

Damn I joined one back in 2014 at uni, I’m from South America and in one of their house party I put reggaeton and a few of the chicanos told me to “turn that shit off, disgusting music” and in 2026 I see them enjoying bad bunny concerts and posting reggaeton songs lmaooooooo

I’m not gonna lie it felt super cliquey because most of them were Mexican or Mexican American so I could relate but not fully relate because I’m Ecuadorian 😭 and everything was revolved around Mexican custom and cultures.
