@shuttario: I’ve heard soft shutter buttons can damage the shutter release mechanism. Never had an issue myself, other than occasionally losing them. Has anyone actually damaged their camera with one, or is this just a myth? Camera: Fujifilm X-E1 #fujixe1 #fujifilmxe1 #softshutterrelease #softshutterbutton
I highly recommend match technical’s soft shutter button over any of the cheaper ones from Amazon tbh.

I use a soft button sticker. Gives me the texture and tactile feel of the button without any damage to the threading.

As someone who works in a camera shop and deals with repairs, I’ve seen about 6 Fuji cameras in my 7 years shutter release issues from these things. I think it’s still rare, but can happen.

If it get caught on something, then that’s a freak accident, a 1 in a million chance. It’s like when your belt loop gets caught on a door handle.

I have a tiny low profile button and works great! Doesn't stick out to snag on anything

The Nikon Zf has a threaded shutter button and it doesn't even support cable release. These shutter buttons are designed for the caps otherwise they would just have a normal shutter button

Same here. Those who say such buttons will damage the camera must have bought the wrong thread size
