Pitbulls are not natural protectors that’s a misconception, they have to be trained and conditioned from a pup in order for them to be game. Breeding has a lot to do with them being game. Of course there are a few “rogue” pitts about who love to get busy from birth, but 99% of them aren’t born with a natural protective instinct in them like GSD or Cane Corsos. The problem is they aren’t suspicious of people strangers like Corso or GSD are. Pitts are more territorial than protective. This one only got busy because he was being territorial over his space/yard. If it had of been a human who jumped the fence it would’ve most likely tried like them to death. That’s just how they are.
