everyone saying ‘but the implications of this trend’ no one is saying they don’t like the actresses or diversity that we got in the show. guys the book is set in a rich ‘wasp-y’ (white anglo saxon protestant) suburb of philadelphia & i think also originally was a private school with uniforms. there’s nothing wrong with a trend seeing what the people who played these characters would have looked like if the show had made them look more accurate to the book (aside from the eyes since color contacts can be harsh for actors to wear constantly). i had a roommate in college from a similar area in philly who went to a competitive IB school & 90% of her classmates were (big shocker…) white upper class kids who had drama & partied & went off into the city all the time like in pll even down to people with old barns/farmhouses/farms that they fixed up as guest houses etc. and it was based on real life in suburbia according to the author. everyone take a chill pill
