@pawportunities_rescue: What does it look like when a dog is surrendered to a shelter? It’s different for every dog, but this is what it looks like for Tres Leches Flan. Tres Leches Flan is an 8 year old poodle that was released from a breeder this past July. He isn’t a good fit for the family he was adopted into. He has attached to one member of the family, and has severe separation anxiety when that person is not around. Of course, it happens to be the female in the home that Tres Leches attached to. He isn’t a fan of men. That’s not to say that can’t change with a lot of time, patience, and persistence. However the husband works from home, and whenever the wife leaves, Tres Leches barks incessantly, making it difficult for him to be able to perform his job. They live in a small, one story home, so there really aren’t options to move Tres Leches to a part of the home where he can’t be heard. The family has tried to work with Tres Leches’ anxiety, but haven’t found anything that has worked. Tres Leches would probably benefit greatly from a home where there’s an older female that is able to stay home with him most of the time. Essentially, it sounds like Tres Leches needs an emotional support human. well done to that family for returning him, it's the correct decision and the family just wasn't a fit. I yet again await all the negative human comments who have no idea what they are on about and won't have read all your long introduction as to why he's back in the shelter. Sadly, these people make #adoptdontshop completely toxic
