I find the 5e Ranger to be like 7.8/10 actually, not counting BM. My homebrew tweaks: -They get a cantrip from the Druid list; Mold E, Shape W, Control F, or Gust -They choose their Fav Enemy and Fav Terrain whenever they want after they get the feature, but before they get it again. This eliminates eg choosing Undead and never facing them, or having to metagame and ask the DM what's coming up. - +1d4 damage vs FE at lvl 6, changes to d6 at lvl 10, d8 at lvl 14, stacks with Foe Slayer.
