@officialchadpeterman: I announced I’m entering the Indianapolis 500 before I had a single step figured out. Here’s the thought process. Most goals die because we never write them down or say them out loud, so we never actually start. Committing publicly forces the plan into existence. From there it’s just math backward from the deadline: the race is May 2027, so I need a car by October, a team hired, engine and tire contracts locked, funding in place. It’s no different in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical. Pick the goal, name the budget for ‘26 and ‘27, and reverse-engineer what has to happen today.
