Hope was 30mins too long. Too much chopping and cutting editing. Plot is very weak. It’s a 6/10

Hope didn‘t reach it’s breakeven point with the box office earnings in Korea which is normally one of the checkboxes for the studios to greenlight a sequel

O próprio policial do filme fica o tempo todo perguntando de onde vem aquelas armas, fiquei com zilhao de perguntas sobre esse filme e nenhuma delas foi respondida durante o filme

I don't take it as a troll. I would consider it in the spirit of the all movie and his previous works. In the continuation of his filmographie because in Yellow Sea we have a guy lots in a plot involving multiple people all lying here and there (with multiple conspiracies). In The Wailling, the village is filled with paranormal mysteries internal and external. Much too complicated for a single man. Now it's cosmic level plots, with probably inter-planetary politics, while we are following again cops in a small city facing events far greater than them. And for the internal movie logic, I would say almost everything (actions scenes and jokes particularly) are extended again and again to a point of exhaustion, and past that point. I would say it's in the same spirit we get from "oh, it was a sci-fy movie, not just a supernatural monster" to "fuck, they are talking" to "wtf is the prince, why the fuck is there an apocalypse". Even if it's impossible to not think "does it promise a sequel" I see it less as a troll and more as the consequence of the mechanisms of the movie. I hope I'm understandable.
