I’ve just been diagnosed one week ago with acral melanoma 1B, from a mark on the sole of my foot. Thank god I got it checked out early. I’m now waiting for wide exsition and lymph node biopsy. This cancer is aggressive so any marks on your foot please see your doctor.

As a pedicurist, I'd love more information about early signs, how it looks on both skin and nails. We are oftentimes the first to notice unusual things. But I was completely unaware of acral melanoma.

My step dad thought he had a wound or something on his big toe that never healed for about a year after that he got it checked out and it was cancer is spread so fast to his lymph nodes and lungs etc def a silent killer

I had a mole all my life on the bottom of my foot. I noticed it started changing shape and I requested a biopsy because I have always heard to be extra careful of spots on your hands and feet. They assured me it was fine for 2 years and then finally did one and it was pre-cancerous. Now I am scheduled to get it fully excised.

I have moles on the bottom of my feet. Like the flat kind. I haven’t always had them but I tend to get them. Now they are fading. Nobody ever says anything about them and now you got me stressing.

My sister had this on the bottom of her foot. She had it removed and is cancer free. I did not know it was more common in persons of color.

I was so scared I had it under one of my toes. Luckily the dermatologist said it was just dried blood under the skin and removed it.

My husband had a small wound on his foot that kept bleeding on his sock but wouldn’t get it checked until I finally convinced him to, he had it for about a year but bled lightly everyday for about 4 months. Acral lentiginous melanoma
