@rebeccabarrmd: Confused by the bariatric diet phases? You're not alone. Every bariatric program is a little different, but here's a simple breakdown of the most common stages: 🥤 **Clear Liquids** – Water, broth, sugar-free drinks 🥛 **Full Liquids** – Protein shakes, milk, Greek yogurt 🥣 **Puréed Foods** – Smooth, applesauce-like consistency 🍗 **Minced/Soft Foods** – Finely chopped proteins and soft foods 🍴 **Mechanical Soft** – Fork-tender foods that are easy to chew 🥗 **Regular Diet** – Gradually reintroduce different textures as tolerated The timeline may vary, so always follow **your bariatric team's instructions**. 💬 Which phase are you in right now? 📍 DFW Bariatric & General Surgery 📞 (469) 620-0222 🌐 dfwbariatricsurgery.com #BariatricSurgery #BariatricDiet #BariatricLife #PostOpDiet #WeightLossSurgery #BariatricRecovery #HighProteinMeals #DoctorAdvice #HealthEducation #MedicalWeightLoss #HealthTok #FYP #ForYou #ReelsHealth @dfwbariatrics

Ana 🦇 :
My confusion during the post-op diet is how I'm supposed to get my 100g protein (per my bariatric program) when I'm trading 30g per protein shake for less protein that get me fuller for less.

I only had to do the full liquid diet for 1 Week, The Puréed Stage was not required, and from weeks 2-7, soft foods. I am 5 Weeks Post Opt.

I did clear for about a week and a half, and then pretty much skipped everything else, but I stick to chicken and lean meat tacos with keto tortillas, and stay within my 4 ounces

I’m 5 weeks post op and eat regular food with some exeptions like pasta, rice, hardboiled eggs etc. In my region in Sweden our post op diet is 1 week liquid, 2 weeks soft/mashed food and 1 week easing in to regular food. We get 4 weeks sickleave to adjust the diet before going back to work.

currently day 56 post op and my team has me on soft foods for another month. It really is interesting how everyone has a different plan and timeliness. I appreciate your food recipes. they've been helpful for what seems like a never ending food stage for me!

Fresh fruit and raw vegetables are by far my most missed foods. I'm only 2 weeks post op so I got a ways to go, but man do I miss these things.

i'm 3 1/2 weeks post op and i have been eating jus soft foods and chewing them really well till they kinda just slide down my throat. i even ate air fried salmon last night and ate it like that. is there a reason that wouldn't be ok over puree?

No way people are going through all those phases. I have never once followed a “clear liquid” diet. No reason it can’t be full liquid.
