As much as the pocket universe forms the core of some of my favourite scifi, there is no reason to believe there's any truth to it. If any scientist had credibly created a second big bang in the lab, everyone in the whole workd would be talking about it. Every physicist on Earth would be testing it to the very limits of human understanding. They're not, which tells us everything.
