@pilotsydni: I watched an aircraft get intercepted during a TFR (Temporary Flight Restriction) in Chicago. Pilot lesson of the day: READ YOUR NOTAMs. ✈️ A TFR (Temporary Flight Restriction) is an area of airspace temporarily restricted by the FAA for things like security, emergencies, or major events. Yesterday, the Chicago area had a Presidential TFR while the President was visiting. And this is what can happen when you enter one: NORAD can intercept the aircraft with military fighters to establish contact and get the pilot to leave the restricted airspace. So if you’re a pilot, checking NOTAMs before every flight isn’t just a good habit, it’s part of knowing what airspace you can LEGALLY operate in.
