As someone who does ceramics I was gobsmacked by the ceramic collection at the National Museum in Seoul, including this Joseon Dynasty moon jar. I loved the way it was exhibited too. I came home with some beautiful celadon and baekja pieces, including a moon jar from a local market. I had known a bit about Korean ceramics but did not understand how deeply it was embedded into national identity (at times, its production even being regulated by the government) or how much it figured into the politics of the Korean peninsula and Japanese occupation. They had pieces dating back to Neolithic times. For anyone interested I highly recommend a visit (if you can) or checking out their collection online!

I took two years of pottery in high school You never ever throw a pot that fast and frenzied. You start from zero speed and slowly increase the speed. He's flopping all over the place intentionally. I'm sure that means he's rage-baiting on multiple levels.

Ceramics are something I love to buy when traveling, I was not familiar with moon jars but these are beautiful. Art is something to be pursued with intention, especially when it’s outside of your own culture

I did a study abroad semester in Seoul, then lived in Korea for 2 years working, I’ll be going back in very soon to learn moon jars from a master in Icheon ❤️respect and love for Korean art always

i dont really understand whats happening here. From my understanding his videos are meant to be funny and satirical, he obviously cant throw a moon jar, he increasingly does more and more outrages and exaggerated things to mess up whatever hes throwing and how hes throwing it. looking thru his other type of videos he does know how to throw, hes definitely experienced. I thought it was making fun of how impossible it is for him to throw a moon jar. can someone how this takes away from the talented people that do throw them correctly, or hows he’s claiming something he cant even make (purposefully cant make) 😓maybe i am ignorant of some aspect of his video

i love how the imperfections make the heart because the moon isn't actually round either and filled with a shit ton of imperfections, so it feels like true homage to the moon. i love it.
