@lauren_thelabornurse: Hear me out: the toilet is an underrated labor tool. 🚽 First, it’s a place your body already associates with letting go. Sitting there may help you unclench your jaw, belly, and pelvic floor between contractions. Second, you’re upright and supported. You can let your knees fall comfortably apart, lean forward onto a pillow on the tank, and rest your arms and head while you breathe through contractions. It’s one more position to try if you’re looking for a change. And there’s a practical component too? You can pee, poop, or leak fluid without worrying about making a mess. Emptying your bladder regularly during labor is helpful, too. You don’t have to stay there for hours. Try a few contractions and see how it feels. And if you suddenly feel intense rectal pressure or an urge to push, call your nurse or midwife before settling in. Would you try laboring on the toilet? #laboranddelivery #birth #pregnancy
