There are several names that you are not allowed to name your child like King or Jesus for example.. King is acceptable for a last name, but you cannot name a person the first name King

I have worked in scheduling and registration for a hospital and clinic Network for almost a decade. I could almost guarantee there is no approval process for naming your children. I have seen some of the most ridiculous names you could think of for children.

For once, Payton is rigth, Im not from the USA, so I dont know how exactly works there, but in some contries like mine where you give the name you want to give to your child to the nurses and then the hospital send it to the registry office/vital records office, and they have a list of names forbidden that you cant give to a child for his well being (avoid bull-Es) like Goku,Megatron, Hit(you know the rest),Hore, etc. and the person assign to approve or not the name is the officer of the record office or the judge that works there

There's no law. Therefore it's not illegal, they are just restricted names because they could reasonably negatively impact a child's upbringing, as the state sees it.

There are actually illegal names to give a child in the USA. However, the reality of enforcing it is non existent lol.

if you put a profanity or absurd name they wont approved it gets send back and you have to choose a real valid name 100% mailed or in by a official government website either way it will get invalid judges dont approve anything not even if you change your name there's an official employee that does that 🙄

It's not a judge but there's certain things that can't be a name usually slurs but people have actually fought against this it also has to be more than three characters you also can't do like a punctuation.

Fun fact that is true you legally cannot name your kids whatever you want you can for like a couple months but then you'll get a letter in the mail saying the country has either renamed them or you have to come back and do it yourself it happened to this girl I swear her parents named her Nutella and a judge renamed her Ella because he thought Nutella would be like embarrassing which it would be I'd make fun of Nutella

normal names are fine but if it is a rare name you have to get it approved by the government but also slurs, satan, lucifer, jesus, christ, etc. are not possible to name your baby there has been people trying those names
