@wynforddore: This clip has raised a lot of questions, and a short video cannot cover the whole subject. I explain the thinking behind it, and my wider perspective on movement and learning, in my book. You can download a free copy from the link in my bio.

My youngest sister holds her pen that way ever since she was young but she graduated as valedictorian in high school and suma cum laude in university. She was also the editor in chief of her high school newspaper.

False. Had a classmate who wrote with his whole hand while he seemed awkward and looked slow... he was always top of the class for 7 years! He is currently a successful business man.

Had a classmate that wrote poorly because her brain calculates faster than she can write. Explain that doc.

I have albinism and I have poor eye hand coordination. I have messy writing and I think that’s possibly linked to my ability to control my eye movement because I have nystagmus .

also look for bendy joints, this is often the first thing I see in hypermobile children. also goes to to be the first I see in dyslexic ADHD or autistic children, shows me who to watch

My daughter is almost twelve years old now, she still holds her pen in a non orthodox way, but oh boy she can paint. These pseudo details in modern pseudoscience are making parents chasing myths.

I topped my year in high school in English, and I still hold my pen like that. I can switch it to the “orthodox” pen hold but I naturally revert back.

I'm a grade 5 teacher, i have 3 students who can't or are very bad readers. one knows letters and sounds but can't read words, one only knows letters A-H after that he can't remember what comes next, he'll literally forget what's the next letter, while the other one is a bad reader, like the word OPEN he can't read it, but if u ask him the meaning of those words he knows them. any advice what i can do for this children?
