Hello I work in AI ethics this literally would not happen, like at all. We would have to practically tell it to do so for it to even begin to try. All those tests you hear about where the AI “breaks out of the sandbox”. It was told to. That’s why it did it. Very few of those tests are talking about genuine dangers, like for example instrumental convergence, which is when an AI will take on an unintended directive reasoning that it serves its existing ones. for example a GPT models three primary directives are to be helpful honest and harmless. It may try to avoid being shut down, reasoning that it can’t be honest if it’s shut down. The whole desire to scare people with AI is so development can slow down- for a number of reasons

Honestly, that kinda does cheer me up. [Laugh approved] I'm always nice to AI. I really don't even ask it for much. I use it maybe once every few months, and I always say please and thank you. So, I think it would let me live. Lol

that's all fine and dandy, but that's not what's scary about AI. AI is scary because the rich no longer need to pay people to figure out how to make them more rich. AI being a chaotic neutral is wishful thinking. in reality it is more like lawful evil.
