I’m really sorry you experienced that. Respectfully though, it’s just not true that “if young women had all of their needs met, they wouldn’t be scared to step forward.” Women tend to fear coming forward because of how victims are treated by systems/institutions and society. Victims are essentially put on trial when they report—and even more so if charges are actually filed.

Workd war 2 then the Cold War then going in to the Vietnam conflict and all the propaganda put out about Asians was atrocious. I grew up in Seattle and was shocked, even as a middle schooler, how much my friends & their family were and are put through on a daily basis. Even in a more progressive area where there are a lot more people who speak multiple languages and have family members & friends from multiple countries & cultures, it was astounding how many people go through this. It’s so sad how much other cultures are objectified. “Thanks Francis Galton, inventor of eugenics” for giving us this prevalent culture of fucked up shit.
