@unicumtv: All three movies were shot simultaneously over 438 days, across more than 150 locations on both islands of New Zealand. The crew trekked into remote mountains, forests and conservation areas, sometimes needing helicopters just to reach the locations. Some places were so isolated that crew members carried survival kits in case they couldn’t be flown back out. 😳 Edoras alone took TWO YEARS of preparation, 9 months to build and just 3 weeks to film. And at the height of production, around 2,400 people were involved.
