I’ve heard multiple stories about this in different cities in the Valley. I will tell you one story I’ve heard from a close friend, who is now in Heaven. He said he was on his way to a wedding from Mercedes to Harlingen. He said, while traveling through La Feria, Texas, he saw a woman on the side of the road. He didn’t stop, but he did stop further up to buy some gum in a grocery store store. When he returned to his truck, the woman was sitting in his back seat. He asked her how she got in his truck. She didn’t answer but she did ask if she could have a ride. He told her I am on my way to a wedding in Harlingen. She responded, I can get off there. He went on about his business in the wedding. She ended up sitting in the same table. She told him she was cold. He took off his suit coat and let her use it. When the wedding was over, she asked if she could give her a ride back home. He dropped her off at her home in La Feria. The next day he remembered she had the coat jacket he needed to return. He went back to the house where he dropped her off. He knocked on the door. A woman came to the door. He told her he had dropped off a girl there the night before and he needed the jacket he had let her use. The woman asked him to wait. She returned with a picture. She asked him, was this her, he said yes, the woman said, that’s my daughter. She was killed by the train. Several years ago. Of course he didn’t believe the woman. He just wanted the jacket. She asked him to follow her to the La Feria cemetery on old 83. When they arrived his jacket was hanging over the headstone. He promised not to tell anyone because he thought people would say he was crazy. Rest in peace my friend. I won’t mention his name.

My dad lived in del rio Texas he lived by a river or creek and witnessed a woman in a white dresss screaming they call her la llorona and he said it was so scary just by hearing her voice he said it was so scary he hid himself under the bed but this would happen often so this is a true story he is from 1909

It happened to us on a school bus after a game same place Roma. We were traveling back home and we heard like paint balls hitting the bus we thought it could be from paint ball guns. The bus driver stopped to check and nothing. Shortly after the fire extinguisher went off on its own. They say that area is haunted and all you see is tomb stones everywhere. Who knows for sure! But i experienced it and can’t explain it.
