Yikes. Definitely better to not put so much tension on the large frenchie. It transfers to the dog's body as anxiety. As a Frenchie mama who has introduced several puppies into the pack, that drooling bubbles is pure excitement. Could be good, could be bad, but otherwise don't see any red flags.

Guys 😂 how about seeing a family that is caring for a dog and stop with the comments. Dogs are resilient and not everyone is professional in introducing dogs. They will e best friends with many other interactions

Ask them to a park (has to be a neautral space not home not grandmas not backyard) and walk them far enough away from eachother they can reach one another, then walk next to eachother then let them play on leash together then go home to yard or porch and repeat. Then inside!

Give it time ❤️❤️❤️you may get the puppy blues and wonder if you made a good decision but they’ll be besties eventually

Take them to a park. You walk one your husband walk the other and just casually walk by each other a couple times getting closer and closer until you can stop long enough for them to quickly interact.

“we’re new at this” is a crazy thing to say when owning two alive animals😭 i have zero advice regarding introductions, there’s plenty of that in the comments. my advice is to research before you purchase your next pet (or better yet, adopt!)

Listen, I’ve introduced 2 puppies to my very protective dog the same way. I see nothing wrong here. Congratulations to the new puppy!

Do not leave them unattended at all, even if you think they are good. It'll take months for them to truly form a pack.

definitely takes time! my first baby (brindle) didn’t like our second for a few weeks, I actually cried the first few nights because he would cuddle with me before bed and when we brought the second he slept only at my feet🥲 but they ended up being besties & are now 7 & 6 years old! (he was only 1 when we brought the second home)

Give it time! It's an adjustment for everyone! Including you both & the dogs too! Make sure to ease into things especially like toys, Beds that belonged to your first baby! Make sure you're giving each equal attention as the first baby can get jealous if feels like it's being left out! Before you know it they'll be the best of friends and super attached! I felt so emotional at first. I randomly found a puppy and was scared to see how my first baby would act. They are inseparable now!

Get some doggy gates and just let them introduce themselves behind the gates at their own terms! do your best not to hold anyone back too firmly because tension on the leash or dog tells them they have something to be anxious about!

When we got our cane Corso, our pitbull hated him 🤣 and so did our cat. Now they’re all the best friends of friends a year later.

Make sure that there isnt tension on your larger dog! The dog is excited but the tension (aka grabbing the harness to hold him back) can easily turn into frustration rather than just excitement.

You should never introduce a new puppy on your first dogs property they should always meet on neutral grounds

Hey friend less tension on your first baby and funny thing dogs like to greet sniffing butts 😂 not always great have to face introduction. It’s a worth a shot and they will be best friends in no time !

when I did this, puppy fed in cage just to ignore food aggression, leash walks together in the back yard. Reward your current dog for calm behavior with treats. an I always gave the big one a break with me together in the car lol

Our Frenchie is 2 and we are possibly bringing a new one in at the end of October! I’m so excited but my fiance thinks our dog will be mad and jealous (over me lol)
