@zeleangus: Exciting times, last week we managed to do our first cut of silage for the year, 6 weeks earlier then usual. Today we are reseeding with Oat and Rhy so hopefully silage again in 6-8 weeks. Fingers crossed for 2 more cuts for the season🤞. Now we just need rain! #farming #ag #pasture #cattle #silage
What was your first cut of silage? Is it always oat & rye or do you make different times for different times of the winter season?

How were you seated?
Will you do it the old way and drill it or will you use a drone?

Did you look into maybe growing a wheat rye mix? Higher energy for winter feed and cattle finishing? I’ve had some good results with that in the past.

my in-laws and hubby are Tunisian and they have temps in the 50 this summer which is horrendous. America have also had ridiculously high temps for long spells. Scotland hasn't been too hot thankfully.

How do you know the property is ready to carry more? The cows take longer to eat out paddocks? 🤔
