@themindfultattooist: The number one quality I think every #tattooartist (or service industry practioner) should have might surprise you. You might think success as a tattooer has to do with artistic ability. But I know plenty of talented folks who don't get many clients in the door. Sure there are reasons for that due to oversaturation and the economy, but those aren't the only reasons. Just wrote a piece about this on my Substack if you might be interested in more info (linked in my bio). Can't get into too much here with less than 3 minutes! ;) #rosesandrivets805

Caveat - me and my artist are always trauma dumping but we're also good friends outside of the shop so that's a little different 😂 it's a therapy session for both of us with every tattoo lol

I know a couple who owns a shop. He uses dms. She prefers email. He got back to me right away. She answered 2 weeks later. By the time I have my appointment with her, I'll have gotten 6 tattoos from him. They're both great, they just function differently.

Yes! Consistency is key! My first job out of massage school was at a day spa & wellness center in a tourist town. Some of the other therapists were always trying to leave early or come in late (so they could go to the beach) if they were slow in the summer. Then they wondered why they were slow when their coworkers were busy. It’s like the universe said, “oh you’d rather be at the beach? I can help you with that.”
