@drnighatarif: Endo doesn’t magically disappear after pregnancy, menopause or a hysterectomy and if you’ve been told it does, that’s not “reassurance”, that’s gaslighting. Five reasons endometriosis is a lifelong condition: 1. No permanent cure, we manage, we don’t eradicate. 2. Lesions can recur or new ones can form, even after “complete” surgery. 3. Tissue bleeds with no exit → chronic inflammation, adhesions, scarring. 4. It’s a whole‑body, immune‑mediated inflammatory disease, not just a “womb issue”. 5. After menopause, pain may ease but structural and systemic impacts can remain If you’ve been told to “just have a baby”, “wait for menopause” or “get a hysterectomy and you’ll be fine” your frustration is valid. Your pain is real. Your experience matters. Ref: A Lifelong Impact on Endometriosis: Pathophysiology and Pharmacological Treatment Liang-Hsuan Chen Wei-Che Lo Hong-Yuan Huang Hsien-Ming Wu

Did you know you’re one of the only medical professionals in the UK on TikTok that actually lets you download these videos for later reference massive respect for you I prefer to get my information from you rather than the guy need it. Can’t see me unless it’s once every 18 months and forgets my MRIs.

The added insult of being told to have a baby to ‘cure’ endo, when endo causes infertility.

I saw a top endo specialist in my area (waited 3 yrs) ALL I was offered was a hysterectomy. Nothing else. When I refused the op saying “but a hysterectomy doesn’t solve the issue it’s a system wide issue” he was shocked. He too told me a hysterectomy would “solve” the issue totally. And this was a top “specialist”!

I’ll never forget a male GP telling me he wouldn’t refer me back to gynaecology as I’d had “enough treatment on the NHS”. He read out my history of surgery and miscarriage, and still told me to get pregnant to reduce my symptoms. (All said in front of a junior doctor) A year later I had a 5 incision laparoscopy, excision, found out I also have adenomyosis, part of my bowel was stuck to my uterus. My entire lower abdomen was riddled with DIE and superficial endo. Even my pouch of Douglas heavily impacted — pregnancy is not a cure all and I’m tired of many doctors claiming it is 😞

I’m 48 & was diagnosed with endometriosis at 19-after 6 years of agony & flooding. The male doctor told me at 19 to get pregnant. I did mention the fact that I was in no physical, mental, financial, social situation to have a child. Let alone I’d like to be in a stable relationship, finish my degree & establish a career first…..

Serious question if anyone can answer it please… I have endo on left side but my pain is down my right side and all down my right leg which affects my ability to walk at times. Can endo actually give you pain the opposite side?

The amount of times I’ve had people perplexed when I say I’m not cured after a hysterectomy is staggering.

I had deep infiltrated surgery to remove endo a year ago from my bowel, bladder, uterus, side wall and ureters. A year later I have chronic pain and feel it’s coming back. Pain everywher. My consultant said I’m 45 now and have a coil it won’t come back I really don’t believe that and waiting for hernia surgery to repair the damage done.

I had a hysterectomy in 2005 and was told exactly that it would eradicate it! This is the first time I’ve heard that’s not the case.

I’m wanting to go into GP surgeries to educate GP’s on language used around endometriosis and women’s health. I.E “periods are meant to be painful”

Does the mirena help slow it down ? I’m having a hysteroscopy and one fit soon. I want a hysterectomy but they said it’s high risk as my uterus is attached to my rectum. I feel like I’m being fobbed off 😢

If menopause doesn’t solve the problem, why does my consultant want me to consider “medical menopause” by taking Ryeqo?? Context: I’m 29, not married and no children…

I have adenomyosis but I’m dreading them telling me I also have endo as I suspect it, because then my hope of pain going is gone. Praying it’s just Adenomyosis and they agree to hysterectomy but we shall see xx
