I live in south Louisiana. Does every snake and alligator I come across bite me? No. Have I been bitten by several snakes and alligators? Yes. (Just fyi even if it’s just a small bite from a gator or a non-venomous snake, still get checked out, the bacteria from their mouths can cause infections that can kill you)

I had a conversation with a guy about this once, he seemed to think that it was insulting if a woman treated him like he might be dangerous just because she doesn't know him. I pointed out that I am much bigger than him, and could easily over power him, he didn't seem to understand what I meant, until I asked him how he would feel about me if he thought I was gay. Suddenly he seemed to understand.

I saw a comment where a man asked his wife who would protect women if all men disappeared. She asked, “Protect us from who?” And that is the thing many men don’t understand - women don’t have to fear other women, and until we don’t have to fear ANY man, we absolutely have to - at minimum - be cautious around every man we don’t already know is safe.
