BREAKING! POLICE CHASE ENDS AFTER SUSPECTED CARJACKING AT PALMETTO HOSPITAL A police pursuit came to an end after authorities said a man who was brought to Palmetto Hospital in Hialeah under a mental health evaluation order escaped after carjacking a woman in the parking lot Thursday morning. Aerial footage from Chopper 6 showed authorities pursuing a dark-colored sedan on roadways throughout northwest Miami-Dade Thursday afternoon. After multiple attempts to stop the car with PIT maneuvers, authorities were successful with stopping the sedan and the suspect was taken into custody at Northwest 17th Avenue and 79th Street. Officials haven't confirmed whether the driver is the man involved in the earlier carjacking.
