@automatedearth8: -12 Romanovs 😂 || #lenin #socialism #communism #russianrevolution #fyp || Vladimir Ilyich Lenin was one of the most influential political figures of the twentieth century. As the leader of the Bolsheviks, he played a central role in the Russian Revolution of 1917 and became the leading figure of the first government to openly attempt to build a socialist state based on Marxist principles. His ideas and actions profoundly influenced the development of communism, the Soviet Union, and revolutionary movements around the world. At the same time, Lenin's rule was accompanied by political repression, violence, censorship and civil war, making his historical legacy highly contested. Lenin was born in 1870 in Simbirsk, Russia. His political outlook was strongly influenced by Marxism, particularly the writings of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. Lenin believed that Russia's existing political and economic system could not simply be gradually reformed into socialism. He argued that a disciplined revolutionary organisation was necessary to overthrow the existing ruling system and establish political power in the interests of the working class. These ideas became particularly important to the Bolshevik faction of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party, which Lenin increasingly led. The Russian Empire under Tsar Nicholas II was characterised by political repression, significant social inequality and limited democratic participation. Russia's disastrous experience in the First World War intensified these problems. Food shortages, military defeats and growing opposition contributed to the February Revolution of 1917, which resulted in Nicholas II's abdication. A Provisional Government was established, but Lenin argued that the revolution should go further. His April Theses called for an end to the war, the transfer of political power to the soviets and the development of a socialist revolution. In October 1917, the Bolsheviks seized key government buildings and institutions in Petrograd. The Provisional Government collapsed, and Lenin became the leading figure of the new Bolshevik government. The revolution represented a major turning point in world history. For supporters, it demonstrated that an organised revolutionary movement could overthrow an established political order and attempt to create a society based on socialist principles. For opponents, it represented the destruction of Russia's emerging parliamentary system and the beginning of one-party rule. Lenin's government faced enormous challenges. Russia entered a brutal civil war between the Bolshevik Red Army and various anti-Bolshevik forces, including the White armies and foreign interventionists. The government introduced policies that became known as War Communism, involving state control over much of the economy and the requisitioning of agricultural produce. These policies helped the Bolsheviks maintain their forces during the civil war but also contributed to severe economic disruption and widespread hardship. One of the most controversial events associated with the revolutionary period was the murder of the Romanov family. In July 1918, former Tsar Nicholas II, his wife Alexandra, their five children and several servants were killed in Yekaterinburg by Bolshevik forces. The killings occurred as White forces approached the city. Historians continue to discuss the precise chain of responsibility and Lenin's personal involvement; there is evidence that Bolshevik authorities considered the fate of the former imperial family a political and security issue, but the extent to which Lenin personally ordered the executions remains disputed. Кстати, то что большевики расстреляли царскую семью - миф. Их расстреляли по постановлению левых эсеров и левых большевиков, которые заседали в Уралсовете. А эти чуваки в тогдашний момент были в оппозицию большевикам
