@espnnhl: Breaking: Matthew Knies has been traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets while Kirill Marchenko (with a six-year extension, $12.5 million AAV) and goalie Elvis Merzļikins are going to the Toronto Maple Leafs, sources told Greg Wyshynski and Emily Kaplan. #NHL #bluejackets #mapleleafs #hockey #hockeytiktoks

Mel :

My jaw is on the floor like what do you mean they traded Elvis after everything he’s been through with this team????not a Columbus fan but that’s real crappy. And totally shocked Toronto parted with Knies, it’s like Mitch left and now they’re just kicking everyone else out that fans love

KitKat :

I don’t think you guys realize how insane marchenko is. It’s gonna be rough in Cbud w/o him

carl.psm :

Leafs ar so done😂

Sebastien_boge :

I just picked Knies in my draft too like cmon

Double U :

best part of the trade is Elvis gone and most of his salary. Knies is a younger player with similar stats signed thru 2031. CBJ robbed them.

con :

Dude. This is HUGE for leafs, Kirill is a 1.5 points a game player. Let’s just say him and Matthews are ab to have a TIME

Johnnyfromgreece :

Marchenko is better. You watch. Guy puts up points on a team with nobody. Knies fell off the charts when Matthews went out. 66 points and -30. Knies on the jackets will barely break 60. Those complaining about his extension 12.5 mill is the new 8 mill with the new salary cap. It’s nothing.

Weenuks2490 :

Knies was the only good thing from toronto last season and they go and trade him

ydkdeven.. :

ima start crying then after support the blue jackets

zacharyreno :

They need Defence but at least Marchenko is good.

Now he is getting traded

Glenn Fancey :

They'll trade everyone around Matthews until Toronto realizes that the Leafs won't win as long as Matthews' health won't let him last a season.
