my grandfather literally couldn't feed himself without my grandmother. when she went into labor at 50 with my dad, he didn't eat while she was away (giving to my birth to my dad in 1963). when grandma sick down fhe road, my mom stayed with him. she made and served him a full dinner, all he could say was "Claire puts bread and pickles on the table...)
