oh gurl! I saw that movie in the theaters when I was like 20. The industry hype behind it was insane. I walked out of the theater so freaking perplexed. And when Kubrick died that spawned some conspiracy theories.

dude the whole point of the movie is that his wife (kidman) is setting him (Tom) up to be initiated into a deeper level of society string pullers, and Tom is a muggle and keeps misunderstanding everything. he can be shown it all, but he doesn't have eyes to see.

also watched for the first time recently and could not stop interjecting- all this because his wife had a dream? over something that didn't actually even happen? yet somehow she still equates her thought crimes with his actual involvement in crimes in the end 💀
